Climbing mountains with friends can be a very thrilling experience but it is also a bonding experience. Are you waiting for that ideal Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani Himalayan trekking trip where your campsite oversees a meadow and you go follow trekking trails at night?
Well, we aren’t taking you to Manali, but we for sure are taking you to Gaumukh Tapovan. We know it sounds anticlimactic, but it is FUN!
.
Gaumukh Tapovan: An Overview In India, the river Ganga holds a sacred position. If you are looking forward to a trek that combines myth, reality, and self-discovery, trekking experience is going to be your ideal most choice. It is not only going to be another summer trek or winter trek; it is going to be an experience that helps you grow spiritually.
Contrary to popular belief, this was one of the most popular trekking sites in India. This was because, Tapovan is situated at the foot of Mt Shivling, only over the Gangotri ice sheet, which is the principle wellspring of River Ganga things don’t end here you can also see the Bhagirathi sisters, entirely. For years this trekking trail has been beloved by seekers of adrenaline and spirituality.
The area of Tapovan makes it a spectacular spot for travelers. The most notable tapovan in India is the region over the Gangotri Glacier at one of the essential wellsprings of the Ganges, in Uttarakhand, India.
The journeying ordinarily begins from Gaumukh, and the trip was viewed as moderate to troublesome before the annihilation of a significant part of the path from Gangotri to Gaumukh by the 2013 North Indian Floods.
About the trek Gaumukh Trek ranges up to a total of 46 km trek, which is typically hiked for 6-7 days. The trail snakes through the Greater Himalayas within the confines of Gangotri National Park. It is a moderate trek that can be attempted by beginners if you prepare well.
A multi-day agenda mixing legend, otherworldliness, and electrifying experience, the Gaumukh Tapovan Trek takes you around the Gangotri icy mass to the site generally accepted to be the mouth of the blessed waterway Ganga.
The Gangotri frigid span is about 24 km long and 6 to 8 km wide, starting from Gaumukh and reaching out similarly as the Chaukhamba massif around Badrinath.
In the wake of devouring our faculties, in short, lived icy tones and the high background of Mount Shivling, present entirely from the base to the serrated pinnacle, we plummet through the mountains of Tapovan back to Gangotri. The trip is undoubtedly a furious visual thrill fest with rising mountain behemoths, for example, the Bhagirathi twin pinnacles, and Mount Meru, other than the ever-present Shivling.
The acknowledgment of heavenliness on viewing the stream that conceived an offspring and supported whole human progress develops erratically out of the Gaumukh nose to stream 2,525 odd kilometers before meeting with the sea, comes at an arresting profound second.
The journey, in extraordinary parts, veers past the timberline and goes through overwhelming mountainscapes. We camp at strict statues from where the snow bonded tops are a short distance away.
Be it the dreamlike sight of the Bhagirathi tops shimmering in the evening glow, the psyche desensitizing view of the Shivling from Tapovan campground, ascending from the base to its pinnacle directly before you, or a brief look at the impressive Mount Meru, the endurance of visual delights never appears to abandon this excursion.
This trek is grouped moderate-hard for quite a few reasons. It would help if you came prepared for a strenuous climb along with stone ridden ways and a heartless atmosphere. The heavenly men who are discovered living for all time in the mountains of Tapovan for sadhana under the look of Shivling can be the ones to draw your motivation from!
.

• Heart issues, hypertension, asthma, and epilepsy can’t be accommodated on this crucial. The climber must not have the conditions referenced previously.
Places to look out for
• The Gaumukh Glacier
The Gaumukh glacier is a gigantic glacier that tends to leave its viewers awestruck by the majestic formation. It is a breath-taking experience that is hard to describe in words. We highly recommend wandering into the mountain and it for yourself.
• The view of Mount Shivling and Bhagirathi Sisters
The grandeur of Mt. Shivling is well-known around the world. People from all over the world tend to come and witness this beauty. Contrary to popular belief this mountain is not filled with flat-grasslands. It is raw which makes this trekking trail full of adventure and thrill.
The Bhagirathi Sisters are mountain ranges that are not talked about that often. But we assure you these are almost as majestic as any other ranges. During this trek, you will get to experience an amazing view of the Bhagirathi Sisters from the top to the bottom. They are quite striking, perhaps more if you like harmony in rock terrain.
Best Time to Visit: Gaumukh Tapovan Trek is pleasant for any month of the year. Best time of year include Oct to April. During winters, Sarutak Tal and nearby meadows covered in the wide blanket of snow.
Gear up for the excursion and move out from Dehradun from 6 am onwards. You will not regret taking this trip because along with the trekking plans ahead of you, you will also get to visit an avalanche of widely known and the most wish-listed hill stations like Mussorie, Dhanautli and Chamba.
The whole trekking experience awaits for you in Uttarkashi, the Land of Gods. Known for its natural beauty, its significance lies as the abode of gods like Parshuram, Annapurna, Dattatrya, Bhairav, Laksheswar and Ekadashrudra.
Pilgrims flock to this religious heritage from around the country and beyond. Among the many temples, the largest and the most visited temple is Lord Vishwanath temple. You can always start the trekking journey with a prayer or some kind of spiritual retreat.
Once you reach Gangotri, gracefully placed between mountains and the banks of Bhagirathi, allow yourself to wander off in the neighbourhood and take the time to realise that you’re finally here and nothing is going to stop you from this exhilarating piece of trekking.
Great morning in the heavenly place where there is Gangotri!
Eat and appreciate the whole day merely being alive in the strict vibes. Since you are at 3100 meters height, today is the day for acclimatization. Acclimatization resembles wellbeing supplements to your body to become acclimated to the ecological and low temperatures.
While doing that, you can exploit being in Gangotri, one of the four Char Dhams. The Gangotri sanctuary is the most significant sanctuary which was worked in the eighteenth century. Aside from that, you can visit the BhagirathShila, a blessed stone where King Bhagirath loved master Shiva and Pandav Gufa where Pandavas were refreshed.
You will see numerous outsiders reflecting and meandering around. Go through the night in the visitor house and prepare for the up and coming journey.
On your route :-
Stock up a ball of energy with a nutritious breakfast.
You will stroll in the Gangotri National park. Follow through the pine backwoods close by the surprising Bhagirathi waterway. There will be gradual climbs and all through the course, the towering Sudarshan Parbat will guide you to the heavenly portal of the Himalayan mountains.
The walk itself holds a series of streams and cascades accompanied with the water gently flirting with the rocks. You will finally know the reason behind the call for nature in the postmodern period.
Towards the finish of the trail and beyond the Sudarshan top, you will arrive at the campsite.
The campsite isn’t going to be your mediocre ” in the middle of the forest” campsite. You will be camping in between the sinewy Himalayan Peaks of the Bhagirathi Sister tops. Strewn by the banks of the Bhagirathi, watch the fire flakes disappear in the sky and watch the stars glistening the sky and on the river. The scent of the raw pine trees streamlined around, life will feel a little better, a little less dramatic but raw and pure.
Views from camp side:
Wake up with the dazzling fluorescent perspectives of sunbeams on the mountain tops, get revived to walk once more. Your next destination is Bhojbasa. With a two or three hours of walk, the mountain trails will make you feel closer to the Bhagirathi tops.
The Bhojbasa originated from Bhopatra trees or the Birch trees is a plain landscape perfect for camping. This is the most considerable part of the valley serving you the principal perspective on Mount Shivling.
Accommodation for the ascetics, you can visit the ashrams strewn widely around.
Chill around in the early afternoon in the wake of eating at the campground. You can catch the mind-blowing outdoors region, as you stroll into the Gaumukh, the finish of the Gangotri ice sheet. Go through the comfortable cold night during the tents.
Views from camp side:
The day has shown up when it will be the arduous and most protracted day of the trip, so eat full and get pressed lunch.
The trip to Gomukh is genuinely simple. Gomukh is the finish of the Gangotri ice sheet and thus the wellspring of the heavenly Ganges stream. Most strict individuals think about it as a gift to visit the Ganges.
Legends also that one cannot have any evil intentions while on a trip to Gomukh. One has to have untainted and pure intentions so that one can attain peace in the afterlife.
Remember to stay hydrated especially during this trek because the path from here gets more extreme and loaded up with rock stones. The stone moraines on the icy mass make the trip troublesome, yet it likewise implies there is no need for specialized supplies. You can utilize a journeying post to facilitate the ascension.
The last journey to Tapovan is a rough landscape, and when you cross it, you will be satisfied to be in the most famous mountains with a closer perspective on the brilliant Mt. Shivling.
Tapovan is acclaimed for the Sadhus who come here for contemplation. It is additionally the base camp for the undertakings going to Mt. Shivling. It offers the immediate, more magnificent sight of Mt. Shivling, which is viewed as one of the most consecrated and lovely mountains. Try not to miss seeing Mt. Meru and Bhagirathi tops.
After the tiring trip, Tapovan fills in as an ideal spot for isolation. Here you will discover mountain goats meandering around, similarly as you seem to be. The sight is totally a counterpart for all the tiresome hours of walking the mountain trails.
It is now the time to revise the sights you have seen so far. Do take up the opportunity to capture your moments among the pride of the Himalayan peaks.
You cannot miss the sunrises and the sunsets on this trip. It is worth bombarding your gallery with such amazing sights of the mountains, the trees, streams which are notable for the most favoured trekking destination.
Mt. Shivling looks prettier as at no other time, passing its excellence to the neighbouring pinnacles. Together they all make a dynamite sight.
Plummeting is troublesome than climbing they state, and you will understand this now as you clear a path around the boulders.
After a steep slip to Gomukh, descend the landscape nearby Bhagirathi stream. It will be a 7-8 hours journey until Chirbassa. Treasure the moments of adventure because you wouldn’t want to climb the buildings once you go back to square one of the bustling city life.
You might be feeling the blues when you come to the realization that you’re almost coming to an end of the trekking adventure. While you feel your guts spiralling all the way up to your throat, you know that you’re going to miss this moment, the many companions and even the solitary flagpole flapping outside your tent.
With a trip for around 4-5 hours covering 9km, you will effortlessly reach Gangotri National Park. Take a moment to smile because you’ve made it. You’re healed inside and out and you feel a much better person. Whether you like it or not, you gotta pack to come back to Dehradun and along these lines to your beautiful homes.
Take a moment and say your goodbyes to the amazing fellow trekkers you have met. Beef up for another trip back to Dehradun and to your homes. While you have left your footprints on the trails of the Himalayas, these moments will stay in photographs and the eyes of the mind. Bid farewell to the mountains and the valleys as they promise to keep your secrets, turn your echoes into music in some faraway places. You can now sigh a breath of nostalgia and relief that the trekking has now come to an end and you’re all healed up.
Don’t worry, mother nature’s sacred Bhagirathi river will lead you back safe and sound.
Here comes the ending for the beautiful and adventurous journey!
